Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed her heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur, especially the womenfolk on the auspicious occasion of Ningol Chakkouba festival.
Ningol Chakkouba rejuvenates family ties and strengthens the bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters, mothers and daughters and fathers and daughters, helping in promotion of unity and integrity in the society, said the Governor.
Dr Najma further conveyed that Ningol Chakkouba is a very happy and significant occasion during which the married women come to their parental houses along with their children and enjoy sumptuous feast and receive dakshina/gifts as a token of love and affection.
The Governor expressed hope that the festival will be celebrated in its true spirit with the involvement of different communities in the State to bring peace, prosperity and peaceful coexistence among all.
Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh also extended his warm wishes and best greetings to all the Ningols of the State on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba, which is celebrated as a calendar event on the 2nd day of Hiyangei, every year.
Maintaining that the celebration strengthens the bond of love and affection among the members of the family, which ultimately helps in promoting unity and integrity in society, the Minister added that the celebration of such a festival plays an important role in spreading the message of brotherhood and society at large.
Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen too has conveyed her warm greetings to all the people of Manipur, especially to Ningols/daughters on Ningol Chakkouba festival.
Saying that the festival holds dear to her as a Ningol of the State, the Minister said that the celebration has extended to all the communities of the State thereby reinforcing the unity and diversity of the State.
She wished and hoped that the festival would imbibe the ideals to foster the spirit of harmony, peaceful coexistence and goodwill amongst all the communities in the State.
Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister N Kayisii too greeted the people of the State, especially the womenfolk on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
The Minister expressed hope that the festival will foster the true spirit of love, goodwill and compassion among all the communities of the State.
