AR celebrates Tihar festival

Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated Tihar festivals with the Gorkha Samaj members of Moreh on 7th November 2018 at IB location of Moreh Battalion.
Tihar is a five-day-long Hindu festivals celebrated by Nepali/Gorkhali people.
It is a festival of lights commonly known as Deepawali which begins with "Kaag Tihar" and ends with "Bhai Tika" .
A total of 40 locals participated at the function organised at IB location, Moreh Battalion.
The entire community rejoiced the initiative of Assam Rifles personnel.
As per the tradition, the third day of Tihar is celebrated with "Bhailo" when the locals enjoy dancing and singing while visiting all the houses in the neighbourhood.
As a mark of mutual respect and friendship the locals began their celebrations of "Bhailo" on 7th November 2018 from Moreh Battalion location.
The members of Gorkha Samaj, Moreh praised the compassion and hospitality of Moreh Battalion and showcased their respect by beginning their visit to neighbourhood houses from Moreh Battalion location.
