Imphal, November 08 2018:
The Great Bolsheviks October Revolution was observed at Manipur Press Club today under the aegis of Manipur Proletariat Peoples' Democratic Union (MPPDU).
Imphal Times editor Rinku Khumukcham, MPPDU president N Meghachandra Meitei, SSUM president i/c Soraijam Yaima Meitei, SWA Manipur secretary Sarungbam Bijayanty and PoFM secretary Lalitabi Chanu attended the event as the presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Imphal Times editor Rinku Khumukcham said that the poor people of the State are being oppressed by the few rich and powerful people in the name of democracy and added that it is immensely unfortunate that the Government does little to alleviate the suffering of the people.
The leaders of the people are also involved in preventing the people from getting the benefits they deserve, he claimed.
He continued that the leaders, who are responsible for keeping the people in chains, again pretend to care for the people when the time comes for election.
Even though democracy was adopted due to the demand of the people, the people are being put under an dictatorial system now but in the garb of capitalism, he added.
Rinku continued that the Great Bolsheviks October Revolution is observed to ensure that the people are aware of the oppression of the farmers by the people in power.
