On third day of total curfew, Manipur returns to four figure spurt with 1127 cases
17 more deaths reported to take tally to 1409

Imphal, July 20 2021: Even as the 10 days total curfew entered the third day today, Manipur returned to the daily spurt of positive cases in the four figure mark with 1127 people returning positive results.

This is the third highest surge on a single day for Manipur, with the State having registered the highest on July 17 with 1171 positives.

The other days when Manipur recorded the spurt in excess of the 1000 mark were on July 15 (1039) and July 16 (1128).The 1127 cases were detected out of a total of 7279 samples tested taking the daily positivity rate to 15.5 percent.

With the addition of 1127 new cases, the cumulative figure of positive persons in Manipur has gone up to 86,723 including 3953 Central security personnel.

The 1127 positive cases include 15 from amongst Central security personnel.

Manipur also recorded 17 deaths in the last 24 hours due to the virus to take the total figure of deaths to 1409 .

The COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement added that 13 out of the 17 deaths had not received their vaccination shots.

And out of the total of 17, 15 had co-morbidities.

Only four who had received their first Covid vaccination jab were amongst the dead.

The 1127 cases were detected during tests conducted at RIMS (24), JNIMS (62), District Hospitals (759) and other testing centres (282) .

Amongst the 1,112 civilians who tested positive, 586 were women, said the Common Control Room.

The civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (321), Imphal West (350), Thoubal (78), Bish-nupur (90), Kakching (76), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (100), Chandel (22), Sena-pati (10), Tamenglong (14), Tengnoupal (10), Jiribam (7), Noney (9), Pherzawl (2) and Kangpokpi (18) .

Necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the Covid Control Room.

In the last 24 hours, 736 persons were discharged including home isolation (325), RIMS (18), JNIMS (13), CCCs (148) and CHICs (232) .

The total number of recovered cases is 75,247 including 3953 from amongst the Central security personnel.

The recovery rate has dipped slightly to 86.76 percent.

On July 19, 22,623 people received their vaccination shots to take the total number of vaccinated people so far to 10,66,127 including 1,19,452 who have received their second dose.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1864 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 351 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.

The number of beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (184 general and 40 ICU, contact number is given as 9862282521), JNIMS (167 general and 40 ICU, contact number is 7005403124), Raj Medicity (75 general and 25 ICU and contact numbers are 7005105552/9366496411), Shija Hospital (82 general and 43 ICU and contact numbers are 7005097688/7005125158), I Land Hospital, Canchipur (general 60 and ICU 0, contact numbers are 9540404955/7085206820), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (general 17 and ICU 8, contact number is 9366034272), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (general 25, ICU 5, contacts numbers are 7005436870/9612022125), CMC Koirengei (general 32, ICU 8, contact numbers 9612636004/9612905628), MSF, Sangaiprou (general 22, ICU 8, contact number 9311222947). The number of beds in Covid Care Centres in Imphal area are Lamboi-khongnangkhong (600, contact number 9366909420), NSU Khuman Lampak (195, contact number 9863526178), Bal Bhavan, Khuman Lampak (240, contact number 9863514338), Standard College, Kongba (60, contact number 7005065147), RD Wing, Lamphelpat (64, contact number 9774670347), MU Canchipur (250, contact numbers 7005609964/9774488732), Integrated Ayush Hospital, CCC Keirao (60, 9362653853) .
