Stage set for semi-finals of junior boy's 60 kg category and others

The semi-finals line up for the junior boys' 60 kg category in the 2nd Manipur State Invitation Boxing Championship 2021 being underway here at the Boxing Arena, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. Khundongbam Biken of IVRBS was first to secure the last four round berth in the said weight category as he beat IND's Haobijam Hera.

Sinam Allar Singh of TBA then saw off MKBA's Lanchenba Mangang Yumnam and Laishram Luhen of NBA beat Aribam Sakil of SRBA to seal their places before AAYCA's Konjengbam Roshan Singh got a walk over.

In the last quarter final bout for junior boys' 57 kg category, Thokchom Robin Singh beat Ricky Laishram of IIS to complete the semi-finals line up.

Sub-Junior Girls
The day also saw Ningthoujam Anjali of ASM, Lumxi Nongthombam of ABA and Chingshubam Reena Chanu of IND box their way into the semi-finals of the sub-junior girls 49 kg category by beating Ningombam Ripa of IND, Thokchom Athoibi Chanu of UBA and Thoudam Silviya Chanu of IND respectively.

Taorem Rina of RISBA also got a walkover to secure her semi-finals ticket.

Indika Thiyam of IVRBS (walkover) and MKBA's Kimhoichong Karong also entered semi-finals of the sub-junior girls' 52 kg and 58 kg category competitions respectively.

Junior Girls
IND's Komhoinei Telen Kom (walkover) and Thiyam Apsara, KBAA's Elangbam Thoicha and MKBA's Sarida Sarangthem were able to make it to the semi-finals of the junior girls' 46 kg category competition as Meitankeishangbam Atangbi of ABA, Mangshatabam Darvina of RISBA, Laishram Bishorita of NBA (walkover) and Ksh Zeena of IND reached 48 kg (2005-06) category semi-finals.

Salam Helena of TBA also earned her place in the 50 kg category semi-finals beating Hijam Jenika of KBAA in a quarter final bout today.

Moirangthem Luxmi of AUS got a walkover and made it to the last four round of the same category before IVRBS's Thokchom Tanu beat Ningthoujam Kalpana of IND and Venika Yumnam of MKBA downed Waikhom Reeya of NBA to complete the semi-finals line up.

Sub-Junior Boys
Thongam Nilbir Singh of IND, Moirangthem Yaikhomba of NBA and Nandeibam Bobychand of KBA won in the sub-junior boys' 49 kg category quarter final bouts to enter into the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Tonanbam Chingkheinganba of KBA has set up 35 kg category final clash with Jasobanta Yengkhom of PBA as they overcame Ningthoujam Chingkheinganba of KBA and Takhellambam Rahul of ABA respectively in the semi-finals bouts today.

Nongdrenkhomba Mandengbam of IND also reached the 37 kg category final beating Wangthoi Chirom of SRBA today.

Thoudam Rahul of ABA, Ningthoujam Naocha of NBA, Thouba Maibam of ABA also reached 40 kg (2009) category final as Thouba Maibam of ABA beat NBA's Ankit Koirala in a 40 kg (2007-2008) category semi-final bout.

Irom Kangleiwang of NBA also made his way to the 43 kg (2009) category final beating Chirom Manithoiba of AUS as Khaidem Sanatomba (walkover) sets up 43 kg (2007-2008) category final date with Chongtham Naoba of IND who beat Chingangbam Agu of PBA.

Mutum Nikison of AAYCA today defeated Thouna Tensuba of IND to set up a 46 kg (2007-08) title clash with Thaimei Jackson of ABA who beat Nongthombam Henthoiba of PBA.

Meekness Khaidem of MKBA also entered the 52 kg (2007-08) category final beating Kabiraj Moirangthem of KBAA today.
