Imphal, July 01, 2010:
Discovering the transportation of contraband items, troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) established permanent vehicle check post at Khudengthabi of Chandel district today, a press release from PRO HQ IG AR (S) informed.
Troops intercepted three individuals along with contraband items from a Maruti van around 08.30 am today.
The individuals have been identified as Bhandari (23), Somu Singh (24) and Khampu Mizo (25), all residents of Moreh.
The troops recovered 40 kgs of Pangolin shells and 50 kgs of Red Sander Wood from the three, the press release informed.
