The series of public discussion on problems and prospects of National Highways in Manipur, after the UCM held a seminar on last Tuesday, the Manipur Peace and Integrity Council (MAPI Council) also held another one today on its 10th foundation day celebration.
The public discussion endorsed the decision of the TDC not to ply transport vehicles on the NH-39 demanding that Central and Nagaland government should first implement the demands of the TDC before urging them to use the route in transportation of goods into the state.
�It is too long taking ransom from people of Manipur on this very highway apart from harassing drivers and passengers,� said Justice retired C Upendra who moderated the discussion.
Among other, professor Dr Ch Priyobarta of MU, guest lecturer of the same university, Dr Dhanabir Leishram, director of academic staff college, Dr RK Ranjan and president of the All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union, S Manglem took part in the discussion.
