Imphal, July 01, 2010:
Troops of 31 Assam Rifles manning a vehicle check post at Khudengthabi on the stretch of the Indo-Myanmar section of the NH-39 under Chandel district intercepted a van transporting carrying banned wild life products today at around 8.30 am.
Three persons were nabbed along with the ban items.
They were identified as Bhandari (23), Somu Singh (24) and Khampu Mizo (25), all are residents of Moreh.
Forty kilogram of pangolin shells and 50 kg of red sandal wood have been recovered from them, a statement of the IGAR (S) said.
