Imphal, July 01 2010:
Stating that the surrender ceremony held at IGAR (S), Mantripukhri on June 28 last was a repetition of the 'Surrender drama' which is already well known to all, the proscribed outfit United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has asserted that one Sgt Maj David Shah of the outfit who reportedly surrendered before the Maj General CA Krishnan and DGP Y Joykumar has no connection with UNLF or its armed wing MPA.
In a statement, senior publicity officer of UNLF Ksh Yoiheiba said that killing of innocent people in fake encounter and forcing the arrested innocent people to take part in such 'surrender drama' by the security forces are not new thing to the people of Manipur.
Yoiheiba said that the alleged Sgt Maj David Shah of UNLF who was made to play his part in the surrender drama is in fact a Meitei Pangal in disguise.
As for Soraisam Manithoi, who was also forced to take part in the surrender drama as a KYKL cadre, his father had already, at the very site of the surrender, drama clarified to the media that his son is an Amway distributor and trader who was arrested by the Assam Rifles while on his way to Moreh from Tengnoupal, Yoiheiba pointed out.
To make the surrender drama complete, 15 alleged cadres of United Liberation Army (ULA), which has never been heard of by the people in Manipur, were paraded before the media, Yoiheiba said, while cautioning the people against such unscrupulous conduct of the security forces.
