SoO pact with UPF, KNO extended

Imphal, February 22 2023: Based on the mutual understanding of all parties, the Suspension of Operation (SoO) signed by the Government of India (GOI) with the United People's Front (UPF) and the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) has been extended for a period of one year.

According to sources, the extension has been made during a meeting of all the parties on February 17 and will be effective from March 1, 2023 .

The previous agreement was signed on March 7, 2022 and will remain valid till February 28, 2023 .

The official notification issued for the same purpose has been signed by ministry of Home Affairs (NE) additional secretary Piyush Goyal and Government of Manipur representative (resident commissioner) Devesh Deval for the government and Ketheos Zomi and Joshua Thadou for UPF, and Dr Seilen Haokip for the KNO.
