MPSC, FORCE, RCA, PSC & SHADOW post wins in MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

MPSC, FORCE and RCA enjoyed comprehensive wins while PSC and SHADOW struggled past their opponents in the league round of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 on Wednesday.
MPSC hammered UCC by 7 wickets in their league match at Lairenjam Public Ground.
They restricted UCC to 123/8 after the latter elected to bat first.
In the innings, Leishangthem Bishorjit scored 52 off 56 balls, Bicky Kumar Das made 38 and Nongmeikapam Komol Singh contributed 11.MPSC's collective bowling effort saw Oinam Rojit Singh, Sarangthem Shangker Singh and Gelson Singh Thoudam all finish with 2 scalps, while Maibam Bijoykumar Sing took one wicket.
MPSC then took 18.1 overs to chase down the target, losing 3 wickets in the process.
Sarangthem Shangker Singh led the chase with a fme unbeaten knock of 68 off 53 balls.
He was ably supported by Soubam Kingson Singh, who was unbeaten on 36.For UCC, Leishangthem Bishorjit, Thokchom Yoihenba Singh and Konsam Gulson Singh each bagged a wicket in their unsuccessful bowling effort.
FORCE too enjoyed a dominant victory as they beat YWC by 6 wickets at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Electing to bat, YWC struggled to make big runs and were stalled at 102/7 in the allotted 20 overs.
Laikhuram Jagat Singh, who got 64, and Thoungamba M (10) were the only batters who got into double figures.
For FORCE, Md Kabir Ahmed impressed with a haul of 3 wickets while Mutum Shushil and Mohammad Islauddin bagged one wicket apiece.
In their response, FORCE completed the chase in 16.1 overs for 106/4 courtesy of Mohammad Islauddin (25), Saddam Ahmed Shah (24), Md Kabir Ahmed (20 not out), Ms Anish Khan (8), Sarfaraz (7 not out) and Naeem Ahamad (6).For YWC, Johnson Lai picked up 2 wickets while Nickel Loukrakpam and Devachandra Ch took one each.
RCA notched up a 5-wickets win over SSU at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.
SSU chose to bat first and were all out for 117 in 19.1 overs.
In their innings, Robertson Th (21), Anand Mangang (19), Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma (15) and Sougrakpam Douglas (14) were the main run-getters.
Contributing to RCA's brilliant bowling display were Zamir Khan, who claimed 3 scalps, Zuned and Salim who both grabbed 2 wickets, and Iliyas and Nawas Sharif contributed a wicket apiece.
RCA then achieved the target in 18.5 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Efforts from Md Imran Khan (33), Md Anush (28), Alfash Kaif (23) and Mohd Saad (21 not out) helped secure the victory for RCA.
In the chase, the winning side lost 2 wickets to Sougrakpam Douglas and one each to Saikhomba Thongam and Ningombam Sanjoy.
SHADOW, meanwhile, defeated MPA by 4 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Opting to bat, SHADOW were restricted to 114/6 with Md Aslam (31), Reolin Oinam (29) and Kh Devis (21) making decent contributions in their innings.
Despite their low total, SHADOW successfully defended their total after bowling out MPA in 19.1 overs for 110 as Elangbam Rohit Singh's 67 went in vain.
Rahul Kumar led the SHADOW bowling with 3 wickets while Sagatpam Lanchenba got 2 wickets, and Rk Nishikanta and Yaiphaba Laishram took one each in their triumph.
PSC beat OSCAR by 1 run at Oriental College Ground.
PSC chose to bat and were 86/9, but they still managed to emerge winners after dismissing OSCAR for 85 in 18.1 overs.
Laishram Devwart Singh snapped 3 wickets, Ibungomacha Hijam and Chandreshwar Shah took 2 each, and Lamabam Martin Singh got one to steer PSC to a thrilling win.
