CRPF provides sewing machines to trainees

Imphal, December 27 2023:
69 Battalion CRPF, under the aegis of IGP Manipur & Nagaland sector CRPF, organised a civic action programme at its camp headquarters in Mantripukhri, following the conclusion of a month-long tailoring training for 23 underprivileged women at Loitang Leikinthabi Youth Club under Sekmai police station in Imphal West district.
Upon completion of their one-month training, the 23 female trainees were given foot-operated sewing machines in an event held on Wednesday.
The aim of the training, which started in the third week of November 2023, was to help the trainees become self-sufficient in their life and to provide opportunities for self employment.
AP Singh, IGP M&N Sector CRPF, was the chief guest of the event also attended by H Premjit Meitei, DIG (Ops) M&N Sector, Shivkanta Singh, SP Imphal West, Kh Diana, deputy commissioner Imphal East, senior officers/jawans of the CRPF unit, and leaders of Loitang Leikinthabi Youth Club.
In his address, chief guest AP Singh said that the purpose of the programme was to help the poor and needy families, and provide them with the tools they needed to support themselves and pursue self-employment.
