Lamp lighting, oath taking ceremony of BSc Nursing students held

The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony of B.Sc Nursing 1st semester students of the Universal College of Nursing, Yairipok was held today at the auditorium of the college.
The ceremony was graced by Controller of Examination, Manipur University, Professor Ng Nimai Singh; Universal College of Nursing chairman, Professor Dr Nimaichand Luwang; former Director of the Directorate of Health Services Manipur, Dr Ch Chandramani Singh; Directorate of Health Services Manipur, Additional Director Dr O Sanahanbi Devi; Manipur Nursing Council Registrar, Dr Aribam Jamuna Devi; RIMS Imphal Nursing Superintendent, Nepram Pemila Devi and Universal College of Nursing principal, Professor Th Nandarani as the presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, Professor Ng Nimai Singh highlighted that nurses play a significant role in the society providing care and support.
He also appealed to the nursing students to sincerely serve the people with a smiling face and be empathetic towards the needs of the people.
Delivering the keynote address, Professor Th Nandarani said that the college was established with the primary objective of imparting quality nursing education to meritorious students belonging to weaker sections of the society.
She maintained that the college will be able to educate the nursing students in an effective manner without financial constraints if renowned public sectors grant educational loans to the college.
The principal further informed that placement opportunities will be provided to the college students on completing their respective course from the college.
She went on to state that the college is the lone B.Sc nursing college in Thoubal district and it is affiliated to the Indian Nursing Council, Manipur Nursing Council and Manipur University.
In addition to the above, the college is affiliated to RIMS Imphal for clinical exposure and practical training and the college is striving to provide high quality education in professional healthcare in the State, she added.
