Mao Students Union Olympics 2023 kicks off

Senapati, December 27 2023:
Commemorating Mao Students Union's (MSU) 90th anniversary, MSU Olympics, 2023 was kicked off at Chowainamei Khunou (Chakremei) under the theme "Reigniting Oneness" .
The inaugural session was graced by Awangbow Newmai, Minister, Water Resources, Relief & Disaster Management and Dr Lorho S Pfoze, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha (Outer Manipur) as the honoured guests.
Meanwhile, N Kayisii, MLA, 49-Tadubi AC; L Dikho, MLA, 48-Mao AC and A Kapani, Caretaker Chairman, ADC, Senapati were present as presidium members hosted by Chakremei Students Union.
Minister Awangbow Newmai unveiled the monolith and MSU president Marikho O' Leriina hoisted the MSU flag at the beginning of the program.

While MP Dr Lorho S.Pfoze declared the Olympic Games opened.
It is set to conclude on December 31 .
In his speech, Dr Lorho S Pfoze lauded the host village and urged the gathering to come together to lead a vibrant life.
While Christmas is a celebration of love and peace, the MP stated that the nation needs people who love peace and integrity.
While looking at different tribes and communities or the whole Manipur State, every corner has been broken into various fragments where tribes and races have been divided against each other with each thinking of their own development and trying to neglect the other.
Stating that one of the most important elements in nation building is unity among people, the MP called for the elimination of all fears and lifting the State from the ongoing crisis with the people's united force of love.
Meanwhile, Minister Awangbow Newmai lauded the people of Mao community for their simplicity and honesty.
The Minister also expressed happiness to be at Chakremei village that has produced many great personalities the Nagas are proud of.
He expressed hope that MSU will be an example to students' organizations of other communities to grow stronger, provide encouragement to the students and build the nation.
Sports items including football, volleyball, basketball, 100 meter & relay race, shot put, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, arm wrestling, badminton, table tennis, wrestling etc will be played during the event.
Peter Yunuo, president, Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) and Eshuwo Krelo, convenor, COC were also present on the occasion.
