N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : Model Club, RCA, YPHUC and TCMDC post emphatic opening game victories

Model Club, Chingamakha and RCA-Lilong opened their Group A campaigns in the 4th MNCAU-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 with comfortable wins as YPHUC and TCMDC demolished their opponents in their Group B opening games.
In the fifth match of the tournament staged at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, TRAU-Kwakeithel restricted Model Club for 169 runs in 30.5 overs but culminated their chase at 115 in 27.1 overs to suffer their first defeat.
Ch Chiran (34), S Suraj (25) and N Bishal (32) were key scorers for the Chingamakha team after being put to bat first.
TRAU's A Preetson (3/30), L Ganguly (3/24) and M Swabiman (2/ 18) bowled well before they put up a sloppy show in the chase.
N Bishal (4/37) and A Bobby (3/15) and N Biyon (2/12) were pick of the Model Club bowlers who inspired a big win today.
Bishal of Model Club who starred with both the bat and ball was declared man of the match.
Elsewhere at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, RCA rode on half centuries from Md Anush (78 not out) and Naesh Hussain (56) to crush PTCC-Patsoi by 159 runs.
Put in to bat first RCA amassed 245 runs for 4 wickets in allotted 35 overs and restricted PTCC to 86 for 9 wickets in 23 overs for the win thanks to exceptional bowling performances from Naesh Hussain (4/12), Nawaz Sharif (3/37) and Imtiyas (2/ 20).For PTCC, Anao picked two wickets and Roneljit fetched one.
Naesh of RCA who hit a half century and picked 4 wickets was adjudged man of the match.
In the third Group B match staged at Model Hr Sec School and Oriental College ground, YPHUC-Lalambung Makhong notched up a 10-wicket win over RULE-Meitram Makha Leikai.
YPHUC elected to field first and bowled out RULE for 43 runs in 16 overs riding on Birbal from, K Mangai, Sunny Irom and S Romanta who picked two wickets apiece and chased down the target in 6 overs with openers Amarendra Prasad 17 and Sunny from 13 doing the honours.
Sunny from who shone with both the bat and ball was named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, TCMDC-Thongju Part II amassed 266 runs courtesy a century from Thomsan (111 off 74 deliveries) in 34.4 overs after put into bat first and bowled out SCCC-Singjamei Thongam Leikai for 51 runs to seal a 214 run victory.
Tomthinganba (3/51) and Ranjan (2/24) were key bowlers for SCCC but failed to restrict TCMDC from making a big total.
In reply, SCCC batters flopped and went out for a meagre total of 51 runs as Thomsan (3/7), Moramba (2/ 13) and Valindra (2/6) wreaked havoc.
M Thomsan who produced an all-round performance was adjudged man of the match.
