Inadequacies galore at IMS Law College: Union

Pointing out that LMS Law College, the only government law college in the state, which is a constituent of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), is filled with inadequacies due to negligence by the state government as well as the DM University, LMS Law College Students' Union has cautioned of launching agitation if the DMU authority fails to look into the matter at the earliest.
In a release, union's general secretary Longjam Samson informed that the college has only six regular teachers including the principal and three guest lecturers.
In addition to shortage of teachers, the direction to teach LLM students of Law Department at DMU campus has caused a situation where that the teachers would not be able to take normal classes for LLB students.
Moreover, the college has only three Grade IV staffers while absence of boys and girls' hostel are creating problem for students hailing from far off places in attending class regularly, he continued, while adding that the failure of DMU to ensure a proper library with updated law books is embarrassing.
Recalling that numerous memorandums were been submitted to the education minister and the DMU VC highlighting shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff and improper infrastructure, he cautioned that the union would launch protest if the DMU authority does not address the shortcomings at the earliest.
