2nd MNCA U-19 Men's Cricket : Jotin, bowlers guide PTRC to fourth straight victory; stage set for quarter finals

Jotin Pheiroijam smacked a quick century before Bedabiyas Pheiroijam and Henba Paonam spun web around SHADOW, Thangmeiband batters to secure a 115 run victory in the last Group D match of the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-19 Men's Cricket.
PTRC gathered 199/8 in the allotted 30 overs today and dismissed SHADOW all out for 84 runs in 23.3 overs to seal the fourth straight victory at Khangabok Cherapur ground.
The result fired PTRC to the top of Group table and will face Group C runners up RCA, Lilong in the quarter finals.
Put in to bat first, PTRC had a stuttering start losing wickets regularly despite Jotin Pheiroijam standing strong to keep the scoring ticking till he was removed for 102 runs for the 6th wicket when the scoreboard read 141.His century knock off 63 balls was studded with 12 fours and 6 fours.
Khaidem Joyraj was unbeaten on 30 as they concluded their innings at 199/8.Right arm off break bowlers Sagatpam Telheiba (3/29) and Sagatpam Lanchenba (3/49) led the SHADOW bowling and shared six wickets between them in this innings as pacer Arubam Goshan settled for a wicket.
In reply, SHADOW had a positive start with Devis Khundrakpam (31) and Dennis (16) gathering 42 runs for the first wicket before leg break bowler Henba got rid of Dennis to set up the batting collapse.
Henba Paonam went on to claim three more wickets to finish with the bowling figures of 4/20 in 6 overs.
Right arm off break bowler Bedabiyas Pheiroijam however returned with the best figures of 4/9 in 3 overs as Khaidem Joyraj and Brahmacharimayum Sarbajit shared two wickets.
Jotin Pheiroijam was adjudged man of the match.
KASC also sealed their place in the quarter finals of the tournament by finishing Group B runners up thanks to a 7-wicket win over PCC in a crucial tie today at Lairenjam Public Ground.
KASC chose wisely to field first and bundled out PCC for 134 runs in 38.3 overs courtesy of Md Aqeel (4/24 in 8 overs), Md Rahis Khan (3/13 in 7.3 overs) and Bm Irfan (2/32 in 8 overs) before cruising to 137/3 in 28.3 overs.
Mairembam Lucky topscored for PCC with a painstaking slow 101-ball 45 while Ajay Mh Kumar scored 22 off 54 balls before Md Aqeel 43, Md Ali Karim 41 and Mustaque 28 led the chase for KASC.
Md Aqeel who produced an allround performance was adjudged man of the match.
The day also saw YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai beat SCCC, Singjamei by 10 wickets and RULE, Meitram beat Blue Hawk by 1 wickets in inconsequential Group A and C matches.
