Field Day on rapeseed mustard held

As part of the Cluster Front Line Demonstration (CFLD) on Oilseeds, Rabi 2023-24 programme, a Field Day regarding rapeseed-mustard variety Pusa Mustard-27 was conducted at Lamphoupasna village in Chandel district on Tuesday.
Senior scientist Dr A Ameeta Devi of ICAR-KVK, Chandel and Lamphoupasna village chief Bs Lumhring Anal attended the programme as the presidium members.
In his keynote address, CFLD nodal officer (SMS Agronomy) Dr Khumlo Levish said that average seed yield of Pusa Mustard-27 is 15.35 q/ha with about 41.7 percent oil content.
Further stating that the rapeseed mustard variety is moderately tolerant to high temperature at seedling and seed development stage, she informed that around 20 hectares of land in Chandel district have been so far covered under the programme.
In her speech, Dr A Ameeta Devi lauded the farmers for enthusiastically involving in CFLD on oilseeds programme undertaken by KVK Chandel and informed them that Pusa Mustard-27 reaches maturity in around 118 days after sowing, which is a short duration.
As such, cultivation of this Mustard variety could help farmers in taking up double cropping for enhancing their income.
During the Field Day programme, Rabi vegetable crops were distributed to 52 farmers.
