SPB5 project inaugurated at Senapati

For the first time in the region, Tribal Spun Repurpose Private Limited (TSRPL) launched Silica Plastic Block (SPB5) project in Senapati district for socio-economic, value addition and plastic repurposing.
Speaking at the launch function, Makhrelui village authority chairman S Lokho informed that the Silica Plastic Block (SPB5) project has been installed and inaugurated to bring convergence of passion, innovation and community welfare through the HiEERA practitioners by the Tribal Spun Repurpose Pvt Ltd (TSRPL).
He also termed the day as the dawn of a new era to make a picturesque village of Makhrelui in Senapati district.
According to TSRPL co-founder and director Lokho Paul, the SPB5 project is first to be launched in the entire north-eastern region and the unique project has been set up in the heart of Senapati town.
He termed the SPB5 project as a path breaking initiative and called it a milestone for the UN as well.
When the whole world is worried about damages caused to the environment, the initiative of repurposing plastic has come to Senapati to lessen the threat of plastic pollution, he said, while informing that the HiEERA programme is being facilitated by the UNCTAD.
Rhino Machine managing director and TSRPL co-founder Manish Kothari, who was also present at the launch function, said that Empretec is the flagship capacity-building programme of the United Nations and it is promoted in India by Empretec India Foundation (ETF) for the promotion of entrepreneurship and micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) to facilitate sustainable develop ment and inclusive growth.
Empretec is recognised by United Nations General Assembly resolutions since 2012 as a tool for sustainable development of entrepreneurship, he said.
According to Manish Kothari, High-Impact Entrepreneurs from Emerging Regions for Action (HIEERA) programme is an integrated entrepreneurship training and technical assistance to promote sustainable development and initiative by Makhrelui village to collaborate with HIEERA practitioners is a welcome step towards meeting the long-term goals of sustainable development.
He added that Makhrelui village is one among two villages recognised as HIEERA villages with SP Caroline the first HIEERA representative from the village.
