Gelson blazes unbeaten 120, picks 3 as MPSC overwhelm YAC for seventh straight victory

Gelson Thoudam produced a stellar all round performance to help MPSC overwhelm YAC, Yaiskul by 92 runs for the seventh win on the trot in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy Group C campaign.
The result helped MPSC finish on top of Group C table and qualify for the quarter finals along with UCC-Uripok who finished second despite suffering a 1-wicket loss to FORCE-Kshetrigao today in a clash for Group runners.
Opting to bat first at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, Gelson Thoudam hit an unbeaten 120 off 66 deliveries and Sharangthem Shangker blazed 56 off 32 balls to lift MPSC to a massive total of 200/2 .

Gelson then picked three wickets to help MPSC throttle YAC chase and held them to 108 for 8.Oinam Rojit also claimed two wickets to make things hard for YAC.
Chumthao DK and Indrakumar Wayenbam picked a wicket apiece for YAC before they had a dismal chase.
Abocha Laishram 22, Singhajit Sharma 23 and Joychandra Ngangom 15 were the only main run getters for YAC in the chase.
At Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, FORCE bundled out UCC for 104 runs in 19.4 overs and chased down the target (108/9) in 16 overs through concerted efforts from Saddam Ahmed Shah 34, Md Kabir 20, Sarfaraz 12 and Tashib Alam 11 .
Haobam Ajitkumar 39 and Leishangthem Bishorjit 29 were the only two UCC batters who managed double digit scores before they slumped to 104 all out as Mutum Sushil 4/23 wreaked havoc with the assistance of Fajirul Haque 2/14 and Tashib Alam 2/9 in 3.4 overs.
In the chase, FORCE too faced a hard time with Konsam Gulson (3/18) and Leishangthem Bishorjit (2/23) leading the bowling attack for UCC but their efforts failed to hold FORCE from posting 108 .
Meanwhile, KCC notched up a massive 103-run victory over MPA, Thounaojam to dislodge YWC-L from top at the end of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy Group B campaign.
MPA won the toss here at Lairenjam Public Ground but opted to field first.
KCC then rode on Rohen Singh 59 off 48 balls (8 fours and 1 six), Nongmaithem Dijaraj 33 and Keisham Mranojit 27 to gather 167/4 and restricted MPA to 64/7 on the back of two wicket hauls from Keisham Basantakumar, Singthoi Nandeibam, and Nameirakpam Arbin to finish their Group campaign on top above YWC-L who also managed 6 wins in seven matches.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, KASC- Khomidok beat PSC-Khuyathong by 69 runs to finish third in Group D table.
Wm Rajak 45 off 32 balls and Md Ali Karim 33 off 30 balls helped KASC post a total of 182 runs for 9 wickets before they bowled out PSC for 113 runs in 19.3 overs.
L Prasantajit 2/34 and Tongbram Sagar 2/38 shared four wickets in KASC innings before Md Rajiruddin 2/11 and Md Anjum 2/6 set up PSC collapse.
The quarter finals are slated for January 18.WYC-Wangkhem will play YWC-Langthabal in the first quarter final match while KCC-Kongba will play YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai; MPSC play KSDO, Kyamgei and Blue Hawk-Khurai meet UCC, Uripok Kangchup Road in the other quarter final matches.
