Ahead of 2024 Parliamentary elections : NPF reaches out to 7 Assembly segments

Representatives of Naga People's Front (NPF) supporters held a consultative meeting at the residence of Outer Manipur MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze to deliberate on preparations for the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting was attended by NPF representatives from 7 Assembly segments of the valley including the Central Committee of NPF for the valley under Thoubal and Kakching districts.
Addressing the gathering, Outer Manipur MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze highlighted the party motto "Fide Non Armis" (by faith and not by arms) and urged everyone to support the regional party.
Dr Lorho S Pfoze expressed regret that his tenure was "wasted for long" due to the Nationwide lockdown in the past and the clash between two communities in the State in the last 7 months.
Thus, the MP emphasized the need to maintain peace as the first step for all sorts of development and added that the impact of the present unrest has gone beyond the two communities.
The MP also urged everyone to work together towards bringing peace and harmony in the State and to mend the many divisions and boundaries in the present scenario.
In his address, Honreikhui Kashung, general secretary, NPF informed that NPF was first introduced in Manipur in 2011 .
According to a record in the Election Commission, NPF is the second oldest regional party in the country after DMK and the senior most regional party in the North East, he claimed.
In consultation with the CSOs in the region, Honreikhui Kashung recommended fielding a consensus candidate from the hill districts in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 .
While urging people not to spread false propaganda, the NPF general secretary asserted that non violence is the principle of the NPF.
He also expressed gratitude to all supporters of the party and urged the valley voters to continue supporting the party even in future.
During the meeting, some representatives from the valley districts made a suggestion for new enrolment to the party and construction of party office in the near future.
Some representatives also suggested issuing identity cards to all valley executives in view of the prevailing situation.
During the meeting it was underscored that there are 8 assembly segments including Jiribam from the valley which fall under 2-Outer Manipur Lok Sabha Constituency with around 2.5 lakh voters.
The officials present also highlighted the importance of opening branch offices in the valley for smooth functioning of the party.
NPF supporters from the valley including Khangabok AC, Heirok AC and Wangjing AC from Thoubal district, Kakching AC, Wabagai AC, Hiyanglam AC and Sugnu AC from Kakching district together with State NPF officials were present during the meeting.
