Health camps held

A "Health Mela in connection with Ayushman Bhava Campaign" of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India was held today at Community Health Centre (CHC), Heirok.
A team of specialist doctors and support staff from Shija Academy of Health Sciences screened a total of 242 patients during the camp which was held in collaboration with CHC, Heirok.
, said a press release by Shija Hospitals.
Free OPD consultation with specialists in Dentistry, Dermatology, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry and free distribution of medicines were the main features of the camp.
Registration of ABHA ID, AB- PMJAY and CMHT were also done during the health mela.
Similar health camps will be conducted regularly on a monthly basis, added the release.
On the other hand, a two-day free health camp cum distribution of basic health materials was held at Awangkasom Junction (Ngahui) Indo-Myanmar border village under Chingai Sub-Division in Ukhrul district on November 27 and 28 .
The camp was organised by Ukhrul Hills Development Foundation (UHDF) and was funded by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
According to Managing Director UHDF, Ningchui Shatsang, more than 520 people availed the benefits of health check-up and free medicines during the camp, which was conducted by a team of three doctors and four nurses led by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), AS Kapangring.
Speaking on the occasion, Shatshang noted that residents of around 12 villages located in the border area face immense hardships due to lack of proper health care facilities in the region and could not afford to go to towns or cities for treatment due to lack of financial inability.
Shatsang on behalf of the villagers, expressed gratitude to the ONGC for the camp.
The event was also attended by Yang Raphei Longnao president Starson Shatsang and others.
