Ministerial team inspects progress of developmental works in Jiribam

Jiribam, November 30 2023: Public Works Department and Youth Affairs & Sports Minister , Govindas Konthoujam visited Jiribam district and inspected the progress of various developmental works in the district.

The Minister was accompanied by PHED Minister L Susindro; Jiribam MLA Md Ashab Uddin; Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti; Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor (Keba), Lamlai AC MLA, Khongbantabam Ibomcha; BJP Manipur State general secretary K Saratkumar Singh and officials of the relevant Government Departments.

During the visit, the Ministerial team inspected the ongoing repairing work of Jiri-Tipaimukh road.

Before leaving Jiribam today, the team also inspected the condition of the Sports complex at Bidyanagar and inter-village roads.

Briefing media persons at Silchar Airport regarding the visit, Govindas informed that black topping of Jiri-Tipaimukh road will be completed before March next year.

In connection with the inspection visit at Bidyanagar Sports complex, the Minister informed that it has been found there is lack of adequate sports infrastructure in the complex.

He went on to state that plans are underway to conduct acclimatization training for sportspersons in Jiribam district to make them resilient to extreme climatic conditions so as to improve their performances.

In line with the above, a report will be submitted to the Chief Minister for speedy materialization of the plans, he added.
