The State Government has revised the wholesale and retail prices of 18 essential items fixed earlier for markets in Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching districts under Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 .
As per a Government order issued by Bobby Waikhom, Commissioner (CAF & PD), the eighteen food items along with their revised wholesale and retail prices are- 1.Matar (Mangal) Grade II: Rs 8000 (100 kgs) (wholesale) and Rs 83 (per kg) 2.Matar dal (Kangtak) Grade I: Rs 7,800 (100 kgs) (wholesale) and Rs 81 (per kg); Matar dal (Kangtak) Grade II: Rs 8,000 (100 kgs) and Rs 83 (per kg) 3.Potato: Rs 2,400 (100 kgs) and Rs 28 (per kg) 4.Onion (Red): Rs 6,500 (100 kgs) and Rs 70 (per kg); Onion (White): Rs 6,200 (100 kgs) and Rs 65 (per kg) 5.Salt (Everyday): Rs 675 (50 kgs) and MRP rate (per kg) 6.Sugar (Medium): Rs 4,900 (100 kgs) and Rs 53 (per kg); Sugar (Special): Rs 5,000 (100 kgs) and Rs 54 (per kg) 7.Masoor dal (Big): Rs 8,500 (100 kgs) and Rs 90 (per kg); Masoor dal (Medium): Rs 9,000 (100 kgs) and Rs 95 (per kg); Masoor dal (Special): Rs 11,200 (100 kgs) and Rs 116 per kg 8.Atta: Rs 1,700 (45 kg bag) and Rs 45 (per kg) 9.Maida: Rs 1,750 (45 kg bag) and Rs 46 (per kg) 10.Mustard Oil (Tagore Tin): Rs 1,900 (15 litres) 11.Ruchi Oil Tin: Rs 1,550 (15 litres) 12.Arhar dal (Mairongbi) (Special) : Rs 17,500 (100 kgs) and Rs 180 (per kg); Arhar dal (Big): Rs 16,000 (per 100 kg) and Rs 165 (per kg) 13.Moong dal Grade I: Rs 11,800 (100 kgs) and Rs 120 (per kg); Moong dal Grade II: Rs 11,300 (100 kg) and Rs 118 (per kg) 14.Refined Oil Tin (Soyabean): Rs 1,850 (15 litres) 15.Kala Dal (Sagol Hawai) (Small): Rs 13,000 (100 kg) and Rs 135 (per kg); Kala Dal (Special): Rs 13,500 (100 kg) and Rs 140 (per kg) 16.Permal Rice (Andhra variety): Rs 5,000 (100 kg) and Rs 55 (per kg) 17.UP Rice: Rs 4,700 (100 kg) and Rs 53 (per kg) and 18.Garlic (Small): Rs 19,000 (100 kg) and Rs 200 (per kg); Garlic (Big): Rs 23,000 (100 kg) and Rs 240 (per kg) .
Notably, the retail rates of the aforementioned 18 items will be Rs 4 above the indicated rates for Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.
Further, all shops and establishments who are dealing in wholesale and retail sale of essential commodities have been instructed to display the wholesale and retail rates of these items at a permanent place in their places of business/shops.
The prices fixed above are indicative and should not be exceeded by both wholesalers and retailers, added the Government order.
