Two shot, one dies; RPF claims

Imphal, November 30 2023: Unidentified armed persons shot two youths at Bengoon, Imphal West district under Mayang Imphal station at around 5.30 pm today.

While one of the youths died on the spot, the other survived with bullet injury.

The proscribed RPF has claimed responsibility for shooting the two youth.

Mayengbam Kishan (21) s/o Ingocha of Irengband Makha Leikai, Kakching district was shot on the head and he died on the spot.

The other was shot on both the legs and he was rushed to Mayang Imphal PHC before he was shifted to RIMS.

On learning about the shooting incident, a team of Mayang Imphal police station and Forensic Science experts went to the spot and inspected the area.

The body of the deceased victim has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.

A statement issued by the outfit's Assistant Secretary, Publicity Bangkim said that Mayengbam Kishan s/o M Ingocha Singh and Mayengbam Shitonkumar Singh alias Jaya s/o M Noba Singh, both belonging to Irengband Makha Leikai, Kakching district were punished for raping a 15 year old girl on November 24, 2023 .

In the future too, the RPF would continue punish all those men who do not respect women and commit rapes.

Noting that rape cases have been rising in the contemporary Manipuri society, the outfit appealed to all men to respect women, and urged parents to teach their sons starting from very tender age that they should always respect girls/women.
