Meeteis should shield own community: Rameshwor

While observing that amid the ongoing conflict in the state, Kukis are being aided from outside, both physical and monetarily, Keirao AC MLA and Plan ning and Development Authority (PDA) chairman Lourembam Rameshwor has stated that there is no one other than ourselves to help protect the Meetei community.
He was speaking during the distribution of smart cards for old age pension scheme and the Chief Minister Widow Pension Scheme to select beneficiaries organised by Imphal East District Social Welfare office, Kyamgei on Thursday.
MLA Rameshwor went stated that Meetei is a community with decreasing population and there is no one to help them other than the community themselves.
As such, there is dire need for increasing population and work hard to earn money.
It is known to all that for the other community, help is coming not only monetarily but even armed people.
So, in order to save oneself, everyone should be as skilled as a trained military, he added.
The distribution programme was also attended by district social welfare officer lmphal East Waikhom Thamabati and Kyamgei ZP pradhan Koijam Subash among others.
