AR distributes computer sets, conducts lecture

As part of Operation Sadbhavana, Assam Rifles of IGAR(S) provided computer sets with accessories and printer to Khangkhui Khullen village in Ukhrul district on Wednesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the computer sets were distributed considering the absence of IT infrastructure in Khangkhui Khullen village and the considerable distance to Ukhrul district headquarters.
The village authorities commended the efforts and expressed desire for Assam Rifles to pursue additional initiatives that would further benefit the community, the PRO added.
On the other hand, under the sponsorship of Director ate of University & Higher Education under College Students Mentoring Initiatives (COSMI), Phase-I, troopers of Assam Rifles in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance.
Cell (IQAC) and Career Guidance and Counselling Committee of United College, Lambung, Chandel organised a one day workshop on career guid ance at the College's campus on Wednesday.
Similarly, a lecture on Women Health and Hygiene under the theme "Healthy Women means a Healthy Family" was organised by troopers of Assam Rifles at Gelbung village under Sangaikot Sub-Division in Churachandpur district on Wednesday during which the attendees were explained in detail about the advantages of adopting hygiene and clean lifestyle, the PRO added.
Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) in collaboration with locals and church authorities also conducted a cleanliness programme at Tusom CV village in Ukhrul district on Thursday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event organised as part of "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" was aimed at creating awareness amongst villagers about maintaining cleanliness of their surroundings and to inspire them to adopt healthy lifestyle practices.
On the other hand, troopers of Assam Rifles conducted a motivational lecture on various opportunities and avenues to join the Armed Forces as a career for school students of Don Bosco School in Churachandpur district on Thursday.
Relief materials were also distributed to the inmates of Larnka College relief camp and 20 water storage tanks of 1000 litres capacity to Mapum village in Kamjong district under Operation Sadbhavana project, the PRO informed.
