Imphal, October 06 2023: Governor Anusuiya Uikey has said that art is an effective tool which can be used to improve the quality of life and understand the world better.

The Governor was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Thoithoiba Mayanglambam's Solo Art Exhibition "Saknairabasingi Liklu Pareng" held at Imphal Art College, today.

The Governor said, like language, art is also a form of expression whose message may be symbolic, religious, historical or political.

The purpose of art is not just to transmit a message, but more importantly, to elicit an emotional response, she said and continued that painting has always had a special place in human life On the present day crisis, the Governor said that the State is currently going through a period of unrest.

Appealing to the people to cooperate in bringing a normal and peaceful life, the Governor said that a collective effort is needed to resolve this crisis.

The Governor reiterated that she is in touch with the Central leaders to restore normalcy in the State.
