MLAs leave for Delhi in search of solution

Most Meitei MLAs of the ruling parties left Imphal for Delhi today to meet Central leaders and explore a solution to the violent crisis which erupted on May 3 .
However Chief Minister N Biren is staying back at Imphal as he cannot leave Imphal in view of the State's violent situation.
The ruling MLAs would hold a meeting after reaching Delhi and make a list of Central leaders whom they should meet and chalk out a tentative agenda of their proposed meeting with Central leaders.
The ruling MLAs may camp at Delhi for some days until they meet key Central leaders and a possible solution is given a concrete shape.
One MLA who left for Delhi today told The Sangai Express that the MLAs who reached Delhi this evening in different flights would hold a joint meeting before they call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other key Central leaders.
Before they make a list of Central leaders whom they should meet, the ruling MLAs would first talk with the BJP Manipur in-charge who is currently in Delhi.
"We would exert strong pressure upon the Central leaders and work at our best level to bring a solution to the months old crisis", said the MLA.
"We would urge the Central leaders to give concrete shapes to their assurances for protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur, stringent enforcement of SoO ground rules, implementation of NRC and rejection of any demand for creation of separate administration in Manipur", the MLA said.
"The violent crisis has been raging for too long.
People are suffering extreme misery", the MLA added.
