Meira Paibis round up two with drugs

Imphal, September 13 2023: Meira Paibi activists rounded up two drug users along with suspected heroin brought from Sora at Khongjom Keithel on Tuesday.

The seized drugs were burnt by the pieeved Meira Paibis and the two drug users handed over to the police.

The two drug users have been identified as Singamayum Kalam (34) son of Etai and Chesam Shajik Khan (Ithemba), (30) son of Ithemchao of Shikhong Khong thabi.

Speaking in this regard, Sapam Ward no 5 Meira Paibi secretary Sarungbam Renu informed that Meira Paibis of Sapam Ward no 5 and Khongjom Keithel ward no.7 and 8 along with members of FPMC, Khongjom and RYVO, Sapam have been conducting regular checking near Khongjom Keithel to prevent unwanted incidents amidst the ongoing conflict.

During the checking, two people riding a two-wheeler we're checked around 7.30 subsequently leading to seizure of suspected heroin contained in two Hajmola bottles concealed inside the helmet.

They confided that they are drug users, she informed and appealed to all concerned not to indulge in any drug peddling amidst the current unrest in the state.
