Imphal, September 13 2023:
The National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) observ-ed its 23rd foundation day in a solemn function here at Manipur Press Club.
NIPCO president Oinam Premjit, UPF Manipur president Nongthombam Rupa- chandra, CADA president Hijam Priyokumar, MAPI Council president KC Romeo were among the presidium members attending the function.
Speaking on the occasion, NICPO president Premjit prayed that the unprecedented communal violence may end soon and Manipur returns to normalcy at the earliest.
He noted that the violence driven by the idea of "Separate Administration" proposed by Kuki narco-terrorists has crossed four months.
However, it appears that the State and the Central Governments are not keen to bring an end to the violence and bring normalcy, he rued.

Since its inception, NIPCO has been advocating for protection of the rights of the indigenous people and the State's territorial integrity, he said.
Kuki militants are openly pursuing "Separate Administration" by unleashing a reign of terror in contrast to the aspiration of a united Manipur.
Instead of merely spectating the violence and people's suffering, both the Central and the State Governments must act to rein them in and quash their violent separatist movement at the earliest, he said.
Premjit also came out strongly against the call of Kuki organisations like ITLF and COTU to reimpose AFSPA in the valley area.
There can be no more barbarous call than this, he said.
It should be the sole responsibility of the State and Central Governments to bring an end to the crisis besieging the State for more than four months.
Withdraw all the security personnel if the Governments are not going to act promptly and secure the lives and properties of citizens, he said while appealing to them to hand over the security affairs to the people.
Premjit also urged the State Government to come out with a resettlement policy at the earliest.
