RIMS organises medical camp for displaced people

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) organised its 9th free medical camp for internally displaced people at the premises of pre-fabricated temporary housing colony near Sajiwa jail on Wednesday.
In a release, RIMS informed that under the aegis of RIMS authority, the Non-Teaching Employees' Welfare Association (NTEWA) played a vital role in organising series of free relief camps in different places of the state.
MLA Thokchom Lokeshwar Singh paid a visit during the free medical camp and appreciated RIMS authority, doctors, nurses, staff and non-teaching team for organising free medical camp wherein medicines and sanitary pads were handed over to the inmates.
He also commended assurance given by RIMS for treatment and investigation of all internally displaced people free of cost.
Further, NTEWA president Dr W Ranbir Singh, on behalf of RIMS director and medical superintendent conveyed that RIMS hospital will provide all necessary help regarding treatment, medicines and will also provide ambulance service for the inmates whenever they required.
Social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram also attended the free medical camp as Eastern Motors proprietor, H Joyby distributed notebooks and pens to the displaced school going children staying in the relief camp.
A team of specialist doctors from departments of medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, Obst & Gynaecology, dermatology, clinical psychology, orthopaedic and paediatrics departments gave treatments and provided health counselling to around 112 patients during the free medical camp held under the supervision of nursing officials, staff and officials of RIMS.
