ANTF reconstituted

The State Government has reconstituted the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) to crack down on narcotics including illegal opium poppy cultivation.
Inspector General of Police (Intelligence/NAB) will head the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) .
The task force is reconstituted to effectively implement War on Drug-2.0 and Anti-Drug Campaign activities in the State, said an order issued today.
The ANTF shall immediately start ground verification of data provided by the NCB.
CAPF and other security forces may be used in the operations to destroy illegal poppy cultivation.
The ground teams will work under close guidance of NCB and shall use MAPDRUGS application during survey, verification and destruction operations and also feed update ground data so that accurate data can be captured in the database for record and necessary action in future, said the order.
The task has Superintendent of Police (NAB) as Convenor-1 & Secretarial Support, and Head of NCB as Convenor-2 .
The Members of the task force include Inspector General of Police (Zone-III), Inspector General of Police (Cyber Crime), Director ICAR, representatives of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Joint Secretary (Home), Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of districts, Director (TA & Hills), Director (Social Welfare), Director (Horticulture), Director (MARSAC), Director (Forensic Science), Additional District Magistrate Imphal West, Additional District Magistrate Imphal East, representative of Cyber Corporation (IT) and two Government Advocates (to be nominated by Commissioner Law) .
Any other appropriate officers may be co-opted in the task force as Members/Special Invitee if his/her service is required for effective implementation of the tasks, said the order.
