Wildlife Week 2023 celebrated

As a part of the 69th Wildlife Week 2023 celebration, on the spot competitions for painting, essay writing and slogan writing based on wildlife was held today at Maha Union Higher Secondary School, Chandel.
Around 220 students of ten schools in Chandel district participated in today's competition held under the theme of 69th Wildlife Week 'Our Wildlife, Our Pride' organised by Chandel Forest Division.
The competition was divided in two categories - one for students from Class VI to VIII and the other for students from Class IX to XII.

Speaking at the occasion, N Munal Meitei ACF/Chandel highlighted the need of making collective efforts to protect and preserve the wildlife, the most valuable gifts of nature.
He also maintained that the youths and students in particular in hilly regions should contribute sincerely for the preservation and protection of wildlife.
Humans cannot sustain themselves without wildlife so all should acknowledge the importance of wildlife, he added.
