Imphal, September 23 2023:
Sheijapokpi Women's Voluntary Association, Luwangsangbam has provided monetary assistance to Thounaojam Tomba, who was left bed ridden after he suffered bullet injuries in an incident amid the present crisis on May 4 .
Speaking to reporters while handing over the monetary assistance at Tomba's residence, Association member Nongthombam Modhubala stressed the need for extending assistance to those who have been affected by the current crisis.
The state government also needs to bring a solution to the unrest situation at the earliest and restore peace in Manipur.
According to Tomba, whose leg requires surgery, he had received assistance from the locality and some other people but no help from the government as of now.
Both his parents are old and unable to earn a living.
He and his elder brother are the only bread earners in the family.
However, since Tomba is bedridden, his elder brother now remains the only source of sustenance for the family.
