Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign : Cleanliness drive widely carried out

Sanitation workers and staff of Thoubal Municipal Council today carried out a cleanliness drive at Thoubal Keithel and gave awareness to market vendors (mainly women) and shopkeepers yesterday about "Swachhata Hi Sewa" campaign being observed in the district under the District Administration.
The council also organised a tree plantation programme today at Thoubal Khunou Waste Management Plant participated by many youth volunteers and TMC staff.
Meanwhile, the Sikhong Sekmai Municipal Council also organised a cleanliness drive and tree plantation activity at the Municipal Solid Waste Management site located at Ward No 6 .
It may be mentioned that the council had organised a cleanliness and plogging drive at Ward No 3 on September 21 .
As a part of the ongoing " Swachhata hi Seva" campaign the Office of the District Officer, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Thoubal informed that the staff conducted cleanliness activities in the office area and periphery on September 18, 2023 .
It may be noted that cleaning of water bodies at Lilong Leihaokhong, Ward No 3 of Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council was held yesterday under the action programme of Swachhata Hi Seva 2023 .
A press release by the Council informed that Ajmal Nisa, Caretaker Councillor of Ward No 3; M Rajen Singh, Executive Officer, Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council and local volunteers attended the cleaning activity held on the theme 'Importance of water is known only by thirsty persons' .

The Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign under the theme 'Garbage Free India' was observed in various parts of Senapati district yesterday, including the women's market 'Nute Kailhang' under the supervision of the District Administration.
Officials of various Government departments along with sanitation workers across the district today conducted a cleanliness drive with an aim to make the areas cleaner, hygienic and garbage free.
Officials of the District Administration and Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, District Supply Officer's Office - CAF & PD; CHC Saikul; SDO Champhai Office; Saitu-Gamphazol TD Block and other departments participated in the cleanliness drive.
It may be mentioned that the campaign which will be observed till October 2 this year, is a prelude to Swachh Bharat Diwas which will be observed to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Meanwhile, a cleanliness drive was conducted today at Kangpokpi Forest Division as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
The staff of the Forest Division took part in the campaign enthusiastically to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.
