HYC, HSO caution

Amid the tense and explosive situation in Manipur, another claim of armed miscreants assaulting an Inpui (Kabui) Naga person has emerged.
The allegation was raised by Haochong Youth Club (HYC) and Haochong Students Organisation (HSO) which cautioned that the incident, if left unaddressed, can result in uglier developments.
In a joint statement, HYC and HSO claimed that one Micheal Inka was physically assaulted by armed miscreants at Kangchup Chingkhong at around 5.45 pm yesterday (January 13) .
Michael Inka, a driver affiliated with the 102 Ambulance Service attached to the Primary Health Centre of Haochong, was assaulted while transporting medicines and supplies for Haochong area, it conveyed.
Condemning the alleged assault, HYC and HSO alleged that the armed miscreants falsely accused Michael Inka of transporting medicines for the Kukis.
The incident has instilled fear and apprehension among the populace and if such incidents are left unaddressed it can result in ugly developments, the statement cautioned.
Urging the Government to take immediate actions against the culprits and enhance security measures along the route which is situated in an active conflict zone, HYC and HSO demanded that the Government must ensure the safety of civilians and individuals engaged in essential services, prevent further untoward incidents and uphold peace in the State.
The HYC and HSO said that they are deeply concerned by the current crisis and are actively working with Government agencies and Civil Society Organisations to facilitate normalcy in the State.
