Rk Meghen calls for unity, harmony

Social activist Rk Sanayaima (Meghen) has stated that Manipur will be vibrant and peaceful only when the indigenous communities respect one another and preserve respective identity.
Speaking at a public meeting organised by Voluntary Welfare Fund and Kwasiphai Apunba Nupi Lup at Kwasiphai Ibudhou Nongda Lairen Pakhangba Laibung community hall on Sunday, Meghen pointed out that the economy of Manipur is basically dependent on others and urged for working together for self-reliance.
The indigenes should be aware that the violence pccurring in several places since May 3 is an attempt to strain the fraternal ties, he maintained.
Speaking at the meeting, Indigenous People's Forum Manipur president Ashang Kasar acknowledged that resilience and roles of women of hills and valley are known worldwide.
In-spite of the ethnic violence raging in the state, Manipur has not disintegrated in any way mainly due to firm stand of the mothers, he opined and stressed the importance for promoting unity and harmony to counter intentions of adversary elements.
The public meeting was attended by Nachou Zila Parishad member Thiyam Dilip Meitei, Kwasiphai Apunba Nupi Lup president Maisnani Tejmani Devi, Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup president L Devachand, Khoijuman Kwasiphai gram Panchayat ward no.9 member A Manitombi Devi and ward no 7 member Kh Rajen Singh among others.
