Public discussion on conflict held

A one-day public discussion programme on the prevailing conflict in the state was jointly organised by Indigenous People's Organisation, Manipur (IPOM); Manipur Women's Federation (MWF); Tourangbam Leikai Youth's Club (TLYC), Heirok; and Tourangbam Leikai Meira Paibi, Heirok at TLYC, Heirok playground on Saturday.
The programme was attended by IPOM president advocate Yumnam Devadutta; vice president Chandramani Khumanthem; advisors N Yaima, Y Thambalngou and Khangembam Jadumani; secretary general Rakesh Moirangthem; MWF president Khundongbam Shini; TLYC, Heirok president Th Sumanta; Tourangbam Leikai Meira Paibi secretary N Manglembi; Tourangbam Mamang Leikai Meira Paibi secretary Tourangbam Meena and meira paibi activists N Prema & Memcha as presidium members.
The discussion held to press the government for holding talks with UG groups to enable the indigenous people of Manipur live in peace was attended by people from various localities of Heirok.
During the programme, many speakers shared their views on issues being faced by the indigenes of Manipur due to the prevailing conflict in the state and ways to restore peace and normalcy.
