Imphal, October 21 2023:
Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) has stated that the statement of BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda claiming that the BJP MLAs do not demand separate administration is befooling the people.
In a release, MSC/CPI pointed out that political parties, CSOs and even military intelligence are aware that the conflict between Kuki and Meetei since May 3 had been planned for years to push the demand for a separate Kuki homeland or Zalengam.
People still remember the memo submitted jointly by two cabinet ministers of the government, seven BJP MLAs and one independent MLA supporting BJP government demanding separate administration to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Several political parties have been protesting against the demand for separate administration and urging for disqualifying the seven BJP MLAs, he pointed out.
Instead of taking up initiatives to bring political solution and resolve the impasse, the claim of BJP Manipur Pradesh that the BJP MLAs do not demand a separate administration is fooling the people, he reiterated, while urging the state government to take up strong actions against the ten Kuki MLAs.
