Training programme on food processing held

A day-long training programme on food processing for displaced people staying in relief camps was organised under the theme "Self-Employment in the Current Conflict Situation" at Meitei Langol Leima Khullen Leikai on Saturday.
The training programme which was organised by Manipur Indigenous Entrepreneurship Development Association (MEDA) was attended by MEDA president and national awardee Konthoujam Anandi Leima as president.
Displaced Meitei people from Moreh took part in the workshop conducted with Konsam Inakhunbi, Y Sakhitombi and Y Umabati as the trainers.
MEDA general secretary Karam Ashnikanta was also present as a resource person and spoke on marketing strategies.
Meanwhile, a 10-day training programme on making bamboo, cane and Kouna (water reed) products commenced at Thounaojam in Kakching district, on Saturday.
The inaugural function of the training programme, which is being organised by Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Kakching under the aegis of Punjab National Bank, was attended by Chandel DIC manager W Tharshing, Punjab National Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute (PNB-RSETI), Kakching director Sh Themson Khaling and Ibeyaima Kouna Crafts Centre, Kakching proprietor Pukhrambam Ibeyaima as presidium members.
Altogether 60 trainees from Thounaojam are taking part in the workshop.
