Police Commemoration Day

Imphal, October 21 2023:
The Police Commemoration Day was observed today at the Manipur Police Memorial, 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion in honour of the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The names of 188 police personnel from all parts of the country who attained martyrdom during the period from 1st September, 2022 to 31st August, 2023 were read out.
Led by the Director General of Police, Rajiv Singh, officers and personnel of Manipur Police Department placed wreaths at the memorial stone.
A commemoration parade followed by a two-minute silence was also held in honour of the martyred police personnel.

The Police Commemoration Day was also observed at all the district police headquarters and battalions in both the hill and valley districts.
Of the 188 personnel who achieved martyrdom, eight belonged to Manipur Police and their names are Heisnam Jiten Singh (Havildar), Thokchom Kiran Singh (Havildar), Dimngel Lenglam (Head Constable), Tourangbam Rishikumar Singh (Rifleman), Th Thoiba Singh (Rifleman), Pukhram Ranabir Singh (Rifleman), L Surajit Singh (Rifleman) and Kh Jiten Singh (Rifleman) .
