New CIC sworn in

Imphal, October 21 2023:
Retired IPS K Radhashyam was sworn in as the State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC) of Manipur on Saturday.
Notably, Radhayam retired from the police service as IG (Intelligence) in February last year.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Raj Bha- van while the oath of service was administered to the newly appointed SCIC by Governor Anusuiya Uikey.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Cabinet Ministers, Chief Secretary, DGP and top ranking officials of the Government.
Former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam was present in the ceremony.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, N Biren said that the tenure of the previous SCIC ended yesterday.
He said that the new SCIC was sworn in without wasting any time so that people can highlight their grievances or obtain information of their interest from the Govern- ment.
The Chief Minister also said that the process of creating posts to recruit the required staff of Manipur Information Centre is in progress.
The new SCIC K Radhashyam said that he would work on making people well informed on the decision making process.
Radhashyam assured that he would not compromise administration efficiency but discharge his duty in the larger interest of the people.
