Maheshwar submits memo on Manipur issue to Rajnath

Imphal, September 18 2023: Republican Party of India (Athawale) national secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday and submitted fact-based report on Manipur conflict along with a memorandum containing numerous points on how to best solve the conflict.

Maheshwar met Rajnath Singh at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday with the Meetei residents and Meetei supporters of Lucknow, to apprise the latter of the root cause of the current crisis plaguing Manipur.

In a video released oh social media regarding the meeting, the RPI (Athawale) national secretary said that everything he has done till date is to save Manipur and India from Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists.

If no steps are taken up to put a stop to infiltration of outside forces and their atrocious activities in Manipur, it would become a huge threat for India and not just Manipur.

He also informed the union minister that the bravery and courage of Manipur mothers are recognised all over the world.

Even now, the mothers are fighting to preserve the integrity of Manipur.

However, attempts are being made to portray the mothers in bad light, which is highly condemnable.

Thus, he urged the union minister to withdraw the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement with Kuki groups and implement NRC in Manipur so as to restore peace and stability in the state.

In response, defence minister Rajnath conveyed that he takes the matter seriously and assured to continue urging the Prime Minister to take up necessary steps/measures in this regard.

On the other hand, Maheshwar conveyed that he submitted a report to the Rajashthan Governor on how the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists are tormenting the people over the four-month long crisis in Manipur on Sunday.

In response, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra assured to forward the report to the highest authority at the centre.

He continued that the present conflict is not just Manipur's issue but that of India as well.

It would be wrong to push the responsibility to fend off against the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists from other country only on the Meeteis, Thus, there is a need for all to unite and defend against the Chin-Kuki narco terrorists, he stressed.

Maheshwar then said that he will continue to deliver the truth regarding the current crisis in Manipur and bunk all the lies being perpetrated by Kukis to sully the Meeteis till the entire country and the whole world knows about it, so as to protect the integrity of Manipur and all its indigenous people.
