AR organises medical camp, friendly volleyball

Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Tuinem village in Ukhrul district on Monday during which a total of 133 villagers including 29 men, 37 women and 67 children from Tuinem and neighbouring villages received medical examinations and essential medications, the PRO informed.

Meanwhile, Modi Battalion of Assam Rifles saved the life of a 48-year old man from Phunchong village in Chandel district who was bitten by snake commonly known as the flying green snake (Chrysopelea).
Following successful stabilisation, the patient was safely transferred to a tertiary hospital for further evaluation and observation, the PRO added.
Under the aegis of IGAR (S), its troopers organised a friendly volleyball match at Songdai village in Churachandpur district on Sunday, According to PRO IGAR (S), the purpose behind the event was to encourage youth engagement in sports and foster a vibrant sports culture in the border villages of Manipur.
An interaction between the village youth and the soldiers was also conducted before the match during which the youth were motivated to pursue symbiotic associations and progressive careers, the PRO added.
