Ayushmaan Bhava campaign begins

Ayushmaan Bhava campaign launched by Government of India to enhance healthcare accessibility and wellness in both rural and urban areas began in various Ayushmaan Bharat - Health and Wellness Centre (AB-HWC) of the district on September 13.Addressing a press meet at DC Kakching video conferencing room on Friday with regard to the campaign, District Health Society (DHS), Kakching chairman and Kakching deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam highlighted the various programmes to be undertaken in the district under the three components Ayushman Apke Dwar, Ayushmaan Mela and Ayushmaan Sabha of the campaign from September 13 to December 31 .
Under Ayushmaan Apke Dwar 3.0 campaign, Ayushmaan Card/PMJAY Card will be provided to eligible beneficiaries at their doorstep.
Presently, 25,694 beneficiaries of 161 villages of the district have been earmarked for the Card.
The campaign will be taken up at Hiyanglam Hiranmei area on Sunday, Kakching area on September 19 & 23, Kakching Khunou on September 20 and Arong Nongmaikhong area on September 26.Other left over places will be covered by December 31, he informed.
The DC continued that Weekly Ayushmaan Health Mela will be conducted in Community Health Centres (CHCs) of Kakching & Sugnu, Primary Health Centres (PHCs) of Pallel, Hiyanglam, Kakching Khunou & Wangoo Laipham and HWCs of Sora, Irengband, Mantak, Keirak, Wabagai, Arong, Mayeng Lamjao, Langmeidong, Elangkhanpokpi, Waikhong, Thongam, Pangantabi and Nungoo Chairel from Sunday till December 31.Under the health mela, screening camps for non-communicable diseases ,(NCD) like diabetes, hypertension, sickle cell disease, etc., will be conducted along with holding maternal health and child health programmes and facilitating opening of Ayushmaan Bharat Health Account (ABHA-ID), he added.
Somorjit Salam also mentioned that awareness will be raised on various government health care schemes and services in Ayushmaan Sabha which will be held in all gram panchayats and HWCs on October 2, while adding that on the same day cleanliness drives will also conducted in all health centres of the district.
He further appealed the public to join in the campaign and get the benefits to ensure that the district become a place where people are healthy and well.
The press conference was also attended by district family welfare officer Kakching Dr Elangbam Kiran Singh.
