AR shields farmers, celebrates Eid-Ul-Zuha

Assam Rifles units of IGAR (South) provided security cover to farmers of Jan -glenphie, Namching and Khoripok villages to help them grow crops.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the initiative is one of the few measures taken up by Assam Rifles to assist the local populace to slowly and steadily move towards normalcy.
Locals of these villages appreciated AR for the efforts made towards facilitating farmers to get back to their day-to-day routine, the PRO added.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles celebrated Eid-Ul-ZUHA with the locals of Lilong area at Jama Masjid in Thoubal district on Thursday, during which its troopers distributed sweets, offered prayers and joined the locals in celebratory feast on the auspicious day, the PRO informed.
Meanwhile, a peace meet was also organised at Bijoypur village in Pallel on Thursday, which brought together the village heads from Bijoypur and Kuraopokpi villages along with Assam Rifles to discuss crucial topics such as mutual trust, peace, non-violence and dispelling rumours.
Rations and essential supplies were also distributed to the villagers of Kwatha and Sita with an aim to provide food and to ensure their well-being and foster a sense of gratitude towards Assam Rifles, the PRO added.
