AR presents gifts to IDPs, aids village chief

Imphal, December 29 2023: Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) presented gifts and festive treats to internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the relief camp set up at S Kwatlian village, Churachandpur district, in view of the New Year 2024 .

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the programme organised in collaboration with the locals, emphasised unity and solidarity, spreading joy among those who have faced hardships and displacement.

Furthermore, AR showcased its humanitarian efforts by providing emergency medical assistance to Paukhosiem Gangte, the 81-year-old village chief of Molhoi village, Churachandpur district diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and facing bilateral kidney failure.

The release informed that the chief received immediate resuscitation and essential medical care from the AR medical staff.

He was later referred to District Hospital, Churachandpur, for detailed treatment and further management, it said.
