'Barber Salai Taret' reaches out to IDPs

Imphal, December 30 2023:
Barber Salai Taret, a group formed by six youths pursuing barber as profession, has been providing free haircut service every Tuesday to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) staying in relief camps across the valley districts.
The group led by Armstrong Chabungbam alias Ningthouba Khuman, son of Chabungbam Gourashyam of Takyel Khongbal Mayai Leikai and Amarjit Asem Meetei, son of A Damu Meetei of Kumbi Terakhong Maning Leikai along with Max Tongbram, Leo Laishram, Thoiba Lairenmayum and Ringo Yumnam have not only been offering free haircut services but also distributing essential items in cluding edibles, stationeries and clothes at relief camps.
All the assistance they have so far extended were raised through contribution from among the group members.
Till now they have reached out to relief camps set up at Moirang Sangthong, Wangjing Complex, Kakching Indoor stadium, Moirang College, Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Sawombung, Langol, etc.
It may be mentioned that Armstrong along with Amarjit Asem also runs a barber shop at Takyel Kolom Leikai, thereby ringing out the message that there should be no inferiority complex over occupation if one is committed and sincere to the chosen profession.
