Flag-in ceremony of NITs organised

Imphal, December 30 2023:
GOC Spear Corps Lt Gen HS Sahi on Saturday 'flagged in' two national integration tours (NITs) conducted under Operation Sadbhavana and Assam Rifles Civil Action Initiative for students, who travelled to Gujarat and West Bengal.
The national integration tour team under Operation Sadbhavana visited Kolkata from December 19 to 28 .
During the tour, the team, comprising 25 students from Tangkhul, Kuki, and Meetei communities from schools across Kamjong, Imphal East and Tengnoupal districts visited Airforce Station Kalaikunda, Indian Navy Ship Netaji Subhash & Sumitra, Victoria Memorial, and venues like Nicco Park, Birla Planetarium, and Eden Gardens.
The students also met West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose and Goa governor PS Sreedharan Pillai.
Besides, they had an interaction with Lt General RP Kalita, GOC-in-chief Eastern Command.
Simultaneously, the national integration tour team to Rajkot, under Assam Rifles Civic Action Initiative, consisting of students from Tangkhul, Kuki, and Meetei communities was also 'flagged in'.
The students explored the Rashtriya Katha Shivir at Pransla and the Statue of Unity, and celebrated Christmas with an Indian Army Battalion, and had interactions with military leaders.
During the flag-in ceremony children and teachers shared their tour experiences as they thanked Assam Rifles and Indian Army for an enlightening exposure.
During his speech, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Spear Corps, encouraged the students to sustain their inquisitive nature while nurturing the bonds forged during the transformative tour.
The Corps commander then presented mementos to the students as a token of remembrance and appreciation, said a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .
